The Last Spell

Well Its pretty much been decided that aqua sphere (thx to kuro) will be taking up a free spell slot so we have 1 spell open for water. The 2 main contenders are torrent and mana flare

Torrent (3 levels) [C]
Channeling
For .2*essence seconds you create a large torrent of water which cones out from your position. Each wave takes 20 mana to make and upon hitting does 1/4*crushing wave damage.

Mana Flare (3 levels) [C]

Effect: Creates a ward that damages mages based on the amount of mana they expend.

Mana Cost: 75/100/125
Casting Type: Instant
Casting Range: 700
Cooldown: 19 seconds
Area of Effect: 500/600/700
Duration: 8/9/10 seconds
Skill Point Cost: 6/6/6
Ward does damage based on mana of the spell the enemy mage uses at 0.5/0.75/1.00 damage per point of mana. The ward has a 1 second delay on burn. (the summoning animation would be flashy as well)

Mana Flare has more of a spot than Aqua Sphere...

I don't think either spell is a good choice in it's current form. Torrent needs tweaking, and I don't agree with Mana Flare even existing, let alone being a [C] spell.

dragon, almost every spell can be traced back to a default world editor spell in some way. You need to get over the fact that mana flare is a default spell. That being said Mana flare is not my leading contender for a water spell, I think its a excellent utility spell for water but that does not mean its whats going in.


This should be in spell suggestions, moved accordingly.

I don't care about it being a default spell, I like some of the other default spells like Dispel, Mana Shield, and Bubble Aura. I dislike Mana Flare in general, as a spell for Water, and as a spell for this map of mages.
