Bal, I take insult to you lumping me in the same category as killll simply because he "rhymed" a couple of words. And, seriously, killll could have rhymed "hot" and "not" without butchering the spelling. Most English majors don't care about rhymes and poetry. In fact, the idea behind English majors nowadays is to be able to comment on almost anything that has anything to do with a very loosely defined "literature" which includes everything from the canon of classical literature to popular culture forms of entertainment such as movies, music, and several other forms that literature can take.

Oh, and rhyming isn't a mark of intelligence. Any dipshit can rhyme a couple words and make a couple bucks. It takes a *real* genius to say words that effect emotions and effect change.

Aqua seems to be EXTREMELY bad recognizing sarcasm .

As some of you could have figured out by my riddles, I occasionally write poetry.

Aye, I am bad at recognizing sarcasm. I just find myself often having to defend my choice of becoming an English major to people that assume we're all emos.

I write poetry as well, Bash. Most of it is far better heard than read, but I may be able to put something up on YouTube at some point. Plus, taking a poetry class to focus on more of the classical forms of it that is more versified and lineated.

Notice how I didn't say that I was classifying you. I said "I just find myself." That's the great thing about an English education though. You get to learn how to B.S. people and come up with interpretations that can mean just about anything so long as that interpretation is supported by some quote within the text. However, I do understand how you could perceive that I was classifying you. I am not. I was being defensive which is more of an insult to my integrity than to yours.

Given that, though, one should probably be able to see how dead text on a forum setting can lead to confusion where sarcasm is concerned especially with no hint as to meaning derived from the inflection found in the sound of the words. Whew, long sentence.

In my opinion, whoever considers english majors to be emos is stupid and most likely an idiot, thats why it's annoying if you think i was saying anything like that when i was just making a joke about killll's post.

@ Sin: I think one of the reasons that this post is long is that people are interested in other people to varying degrees. In this situation, you created a post that made it okay for each of the people on the forum to express a different aspect of who they are: their image.

You pretty much created a new place for a different sort of self-expression.
