| I liked him over a year ago, and a few months are he was on the radio and all the little girls (counting men here too) are basically saying this: "OMG OWL CITZY, I LOVE IT SO MUCH OMG OWL CITYS! I LOVE THAT BAND SOOOO MUCH". Seems like he sold out to me, his songs will probably begin to come unoriginal, and sound just like anything else on Z0177. It's just got on my nerves, I no longer had this little band of "my own". I may be QQ'ing but I don't care, its annoying, hes too good for the general public to hear. But it is true, Adam sounds like a junior version of The Postal Service. | |

| There's only one retard, he does it all himself, or so I'm told, and yes, he did Fireflies.
Please don't compare him to The Postal Service. Their lyrical themes are entirely contrary and Owl City uses much more synthetic (as in sounding as if they were produced using a synthesizer keyboard, which they likely were) sounds than The Postal Service.
And yeah, DBC, you're QQing a little bit. Deriving your sense of individuality from liking music that isn't mainstream seems very silly if you actually consider it thoughtfully.
Edit: The Postal Service's sound is synthetic sounding as well, but it isn't the primary focus of the song, in my opinion, it doesn't seem to jump out at me as much as Owl City's synthesizer does.

No, I still like him and his music, but people I know hardly listen to the music, they just like it because its catchy. In my mind they don't deserve to listen to good music, if they want it they should have to obtain it themselves.

| It's not that I think he's really sucky - it's just that when you have a sister that listens to mainstream music all the time, and when she finds a song that everyone else considers cool, she plays it on repeat for literally a day straight, and drives me crazy. The guy repeats himself in the song too much as it is, why must you torment my ears! | |

| Learn to enjoy the repetition. It's like going in and out of your ears, in and out. Until, SPLOOSH, your ears just have a slight moment of extacy from the music going in and out, over and over again. | |

| This whole elitist "indie" music group annoys me. They only even like music because no one has ever heard of it. | |

It's the same reasoning behind having the latest technology, being committed to a single person, being in an exclusive club, or being one of the few people to get into a certain school or the fascination behind Atlantis. When no one else buy you has something, it's inherently better.

I can enjoy repetition of songs I actually like - music I don't like, on the hand, that I can listen to the first time without complaining, I really just don't enjoy hearing over and over.

| Why did you quote my response to Dragonheart? I think you meant to quote the innuendo . | |

Lolwut. Let's look at the order of the posts. Here's your first post in this topic: - Jay.J wrote:

Mine was right after your's. - Bartimaeus wrote:

| I think, and I'm pretty sure - you quoted my post before your post. This one: - Quote :

Otherwise I wouldn't have said anything. I have no idea how that happened. Maybe you edited it while I was posting, or maybe I'm just silly.
