Trolling for the purpose of annoying, frustrating, irritating, aggravating and generally being a nuisance friends is "not allowed" because the two roles "friend" and "troll" simply do not fit together. It's like being an anarchist and a law or policy maker. Trolling for humor, by using sarcasm or showing how stupid the others point of view is might be acceptable.

I feel like you're trolling just by posting this debate.

I THINK IF A TROLL WANTS TO LIVE UNDER A BRIDGE FOR THEIR WHOLE LIFE, THEY SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO DO SO!

There are friendly trolls who you let join your party and/or use as pets before their inevitable demise when you sell them, and there are evil trolls which must be smited immediately.

To be honest, my description doesn't make either type sound like something you would want to be.

Yeah, no. Trolling is bad as far as my understanding goes. This understanding may or may not completely cover the idea though.

Eh, I'd say that there's a conflict of terms. The internet doesn't allow for friends in the traditional sense of the word. Usually with friends, there will be some kind of shared experience at the same time, but there really isn't much of an opportunity for that sort of thing here ya know? The internet doesn't produce friends, it produces acquaintances at best. At best. Therefore, most trolling one engages in on the internet will be not against friends but will be against non friends. Thus, one can never truly troll a friend making Sin's original statement moot.

Yep, the logic won't always hold up but throwing it out there.

Friend:1 a : one attached to another by affection or esteem 4 : a favored companion

Let's use these two definitions as a friend. With these two terms, I see no reason why one can not be friends, even in a "traditional" sense.

I disagree. Gaming is one thing that two people can do together. It's what originally brought all of us here together. How is gaming and spending time with someone online, all that different from playing a board game or a sport with someone in real life that we'd consider a "friend". There are other things, such as watching movies online together (Live stream), talking to each other, whether by just normal messengers, or through more personal web cam.

Claim made, by I rejected it. Give me reason to think otherwise.

You can troll a friend in real life in the same way you would troll them online however...The word troll used in the internet sense comes from the meaning to "bait" or "lure" someone, and in the internet sense - bait them into becoming aggravated, frustrated, rage etc etc. This is very well possible, and people do do this in real life. Trolling is not something internet specific, although the term may be.

SO THIS ONE TIME I WAS TROLLING THIS GIRL FROM BEHIND SO SHE COULDN'T SEE ME, THEN I LET MY FRIEND TAKE OVER TROLLING HER, SHE WAS SURPRISED WHEN SHE REALIZED I LEFT TO GET AN ICE CREAM AND SOMEONE ELSE WAS TROLLING HER.

That's called a Houdini, for those interested.

I think that anyone who didn't find the Trolldini humorous isn't right in the brain-case.
