Love is the instinct to mate with and protect your partner to help ensure your genes survival.

A biological response mechanism to help people get together and produce and have offspring that are likely to survive and produce them selves. It's also the ability to feel hot and cold at the same time. To feel happy and sad at the same time. To feel sick and healthy and the same time. What is love? Baby don't hurt me...don't hurt me....No more.

You're funny though. Seriously. Love is not false hope for people who feel bad about their current position. Some people may think that - but they're usually the ones who go looking for it. It's something that just happens though.

I have to disagree Jay J. LUST is the mechanism that gets us together to produce offspring. Often times, if that relationship is commensal, than it is often mistaken for love.
HOWEVER:
Love is the subconscious recognition that an individual shares a mutualistic relation with another human being. Often times, this relationship can be seen as a parasitic relation. ( As a teenager often mistakes his/her love relationship to his/her parent. )
In our society, many different titles are love relationships; "parent", "child", "sibling", ( many more family terms ), "best friend", "spouse", etc.
However, words like "mate" and usually "lover" do not fall into the category of love, "mate" being a loveless religious relationship ( such as most Mormons I have encountered ), and "lover" describing a lustful relationship, not a loving one.

Anyhow, Love is life. Love is all there is. It sucks to be "in love" with someone, but I don't think that's real love. That's human corrupted and distorted love. No, I'd agree with Jay in that love is not something meant to be created or found logically or even consciously... it's just something that happens. Love, essentially, is a riddle. You can't make it, you can't find it if you're looking for it, and you can't describe it when you have it, no matter how strong and close to your heart that is.

Mmmhmm, love is the stuff of life and life is the stuff of poetry.

I honestly love reading whatever Aqua writes. It's always well written. I mean it's just a forum post - not even something done with time. Gawd.

I would say that every single human being has a need to feel relatedness to people. (Watch that lecture I posted for those of you who might consider disagree ). No...I don't think he's afraid of rejection actually. He just prefers his stupid persona over human interaction since he gets his fill on the internet - which I think is unhealthy, and he admits to being addicted to the internet - which is why I suggest HE goes out and stuff. Get movie friends and such.

It's not so much rejection as it is....you just don't want to deal with the other stuff involved in a relationship. He told that story about how that girl called him to go see a movie and he's like no don't call here again.

Umm, I don't see any homosexual or bisexual tendencies in you. Although it's definitely possible. I just went to the option that's most common, and plausible after convincing you you weren't asexual.

If he didn't have a social disorder I would laugh. Forget it, I am laughing, the "Don't call here again" is just too funny.

I don't think he has either of those.

I think he has a psychological disorder (Welcome to the club, man!), and HFA gets closer.

I don't think he has a disorder. He just doesn't fit into a social norm.

People have 3 psychological needs (Again, watch that Psych lecture !)
1. Autonomy - Choice and ownership of our choices. Translates to self governance.
2. Competence - We are effective in our environments and we can master them.
3. Relatedness: We have a need to relate to and care for others.

He gets all 3 on the internet, and is far in the hierarchy, so feels that an outside life isn't worth it. That...and other personal problems. As long as he has these 3 things on the internet, he doesn't feel the need to have a "Real life". However he doesn't realize that it's detrimental as there are things you get from real life you can't possibly get on the internet.

Autism varies a lot, Sin, so yes, In my opinion, you may have a form of it.
I used to think I had some form of autism too, but now, on the last few months, I just feel different, changed, but I still think I have OCD, Megalomania, and maybe something else.
