| Instead of us all trying to get back together by playing a WC3 custom map, we should go for another online MMO unrelated to Warcraft. I recently started playing Dreamlords again, which is extremely entertaining. At one time Sinister, Irule/Prack, Siddha, and I played together, I can't remember if anyone else did. It's on the sixth ERA, and new features have been added since Just check it out, it's more fun then it looks, you might be surprised. It's more then a typical online game though, you have two "fronts" to play on. One is the downloaded client, in which you're a dreamlord, and you claim lands on your patria, defeat bosses, pvp (If you'd like), with more and other features to play with. The other is the web browser portion, which you research new technologies, which allow you to advance in the in game portion. You can join a convergence, sell, and buy on the market, and etc. So if you don't like tactical, or games that are time based (Not entirely in this case) you probably wont like Dreamlords whatsoever. In game name is Cyan1de | |

Nope. It's not even that. It's the playing style that is the MMORPG.

| I think we need an FPS.
Or perhaps another strategy game...
Or perhaps we could unite and make a DotA team...

| Well, I'm 100% against a DotA game, too much competition, and not enough of that "fun" factor. I just bought F.E.A.R. 2 off of steam, and im going to buy auidosurf probably. I heard its a great game, but im really debating on wether getting it. I should be occupied for a few weeks though... | |

| Get Demigod, meet up online. like dota but a full game not one WC3 map and at least 10x the epic with regards to it not being just a WC3 map and not having the general dota douchebaggery. | |

| Yeah, but the PS3 is a pretty big investment to make.
In fact, a new 50 dollar computer game is a big investment to make.

In fact, a new 50 dollar computer game is a big investment to make. It is a big investment. Besides, why would you ever play an fps on a console? That's like trying to go 4-wheeling in a MINI Cooper. You just don't have to equipment to do it right. Stick to a PC with a mouse ...

I actually almost bought that directly online today, but realized I really didn't have too much fun with DotA, why would I have fun with a spin-off? - Zync wrote:

| Team Fortress 2. The only FPS that has ever kept me playing this long.
And on the PC. If you're going to play an FPS on a console, (the 360), you may as well suicide now for sucking at life so much.

| Personally, I prefer playing FPS on consoles. Less aimbots and less people who instantaneously acquire headshots constantly. The controls in general feel better and I always have more fun. | |

...wait, so you're taking away the advantage that skilled people have when they play on the PC? And you complain about Jay.J being a Socialist...

| I think he just means people hack more often on PC games because it's not hard to acquire them, not about how the skill level changes, however I would say it just changes the skill-type that is needed, not removes, or lessons it. Anyway, Hacks are a part of the free market. Live with them or accept socialism . (I'm not even socialist >.>, communist please.) | |

| Yeah, it's simply a different kind of skill. And also, my friends that I play with on console don't generally get uber-death-headshots on me all the time like people on PC do just because their skill level is closer to mine.
And yes, there are always hackers on PC.

| I'm sorry, but there's no argument concerning console FPS vs PC FPS. FPS is designed to be played on the console, PC FPS is just a bad ripoff genre. All real first person shooters are on consoles: | |

| Yes, an FPS on PC does take more skill than one on a console. It's about the equipment, and the variations you can do with that equipment. For example, a standard arcade-style game ( like Smash Bros ) has more control possibilities on a console, due to analog sticks, resulting in the ability to use more skill. In relation to an FPS, not only does the mouse enable much more aiming skill, but the 3D sound enables a skill that is impossible on 99% of people's home entertainment systems used for console gaming. And no, if you play a game like Left4Dead on any official server, there is no way to hack. Besides, most of the time, when people complain about hacking, it's because they are noobish console gamers that don't know how to listen to footsteps. - RapidFireOmega wrote:

Q1: Are you serious? Q2: What was the first FPS? A2: Um, Doom! Q3: What was that played on? A3: Um, DOS! ( that's a PC ) A1: Noob ... console FPS is the rip-off

HAHAHAHAHAHA. That was hilarious. Oh wait. No, it wasn't. First person games were meant to be played on PC. A mouse is a thousand times more sensitive than a stupid analog. If you want to be as precise and accurate as is required in a first person shooter, than you need a mouse. Unless you think all people should be equal with the wonky, inprecise analog stick. Would you prefer to play Counter-Strike on the PC or Xbox 360? Which would you do better? I guarantee that you would do better with a mouse. On a PC of equal performance, would you play better on PC or Xbox 360? Really, this is a no brainer. A mouse is a hundred times more precise than a analog stick.

That's assuming the other person doesn't have a mouse as well . @Zync: I still think it's a different kind of skill. Moving an analog stick opposed to moving a mouse. It's a different muscle and such. If it were true that it was the exact same kind of skill, everyone who was good at FPS on a PC would be good on a Console, but that's clearly not the case. Perhaps, the amount of skill dependence is greater on a PC and therefore the "learning curve" is higher on a PC as it takes more skill to master (Though learning curve isn't the word I'm looking for since all FPS's are easy to understand, hard to master.) and for the console the skill is less of a factor, and things like team coordination are more important. Can we agree to that sort of middle-ground?
