question also how does the game decide wth your critter is gunna look like? is it random or does it choose by what you eat/do?

Parts of it are chosen by what you eat and do, and parts of it are just designed by you free-hand using the creature creator. The creature creator is available as a free and legal demo. Check it out. (But don't go on youtube, all the videos there are people who made penis headed monsters.)

The file is 4GB, roughly 13x the size of Warcraft 3. With the internet downloads of creatures, I can assure you it'll probably go over 5GB, roughtly 16x the size of Warcraft 3.

If you've looked up Spore on YouTube, then you have probably already seen the horrors of the Penicorn. (Like a Unicorn, but with a Penis for a horn. Hence, Penicorn.) Everything I look up on Spore tends to lead back to that.
